In a shocking incident, a man was stabbed from behind on Monday evening in Sarsuna, South Kolkata. The case, recorded under Sarsuna Police Station (PS Case No. 174), involves two accused—Sanjay Chowdhury, 48, and Barun Paul, 47—who were arrested following the attack.
The victim, identified as Pradip Paul, a resident of Radhakrishna Pally, Dakshin Behala Road, alleged that the accused acted with a common intention to harm him. According to the complaint, the attack occurred at around 5:30 PM on November 25, 2024. Barun Paul reportedly held Pradip's hand while Sanjay Chowdhury stabbed him twice with a knife, injuring his left back.
Following the attack, Pradip was rushed to the Trauma Care Centre at SSKM Hospital, where doctors administered six stitches to treat his injuries. He was discharged after receiving medical care.
Acting promptly, the police arrested the accused individuals and initiated an investigation. Preliminary findings suggest personal enmity as a possible motive, though officials are continuing to probe the circumstances that led to the assault.
